City of Tampere
The City of Tampere was established by King of Sweden Gustav III in 1779, on the bank of The Tammerkoski rapids. Today Tampere is a vibrant city in the heart of Finland approximately 180 km north from Helsinki, the capital of Finland.
Tampere is the third largest city in Finland and the largest inland centre of the Nordic countries. There are over 200 000 inhabitants in Tampere. It is one of the three most rapidly developing areas in Finland.

The era of Fabergé (exhibition)
Tampere Day. Tampere was established 226 years ago, when the King of Sweden Gustaf III signed the Charter in 1st of October 1779. To honor this date, Tampere arranges different types of festivities in different parts of the city. In 2006 Tampere Day is arranged in September 30. and October 1st.
