4.1 Saving for the future – Long term knowledge management
Innovation comes from connecting internal experience to external circumstances. This implicit knowledge - tacit knowledge - includes norms, values, relationships and personal skills required for success in certain operational environment. Tacit knowledge being harder to copy than explicit knowledge creates a challenge for today’s public sector. When the personnel of the public sector changes largely in the future we will face a risk of loosing the “internal experience” and the history of our operations.
