Short description of the case:
Benefits Online allows citizens to create, submit, and advise of changes of circumstances to a Housing or Council Tax benefit claim online. They can also use the Benefits Calculator to provide a quick indication of benefit eligibility and entitlement amount. The online application forces claimants to enter data in the correct format in all required fields and validates answers across the whole application on submission. Presentation of high quality data in this manner will help the council to detect fraud more easily and process claims quickly. Benefits Online demonstrates how the innovative use of ICT can make the benefit application process into a truly transactional and interactive experience between citizens and government.
